Digital Goa, Feb 14 – Goa govt has issued a notification downgrading Margao-Sao Jose de Areal-Chandor- Curchorem road from State Highway 8 to Major District Road status, fulfilling the long pending demand of villagers staying in the area. Villagers have been protesting against the State Highway status to this internal village road for years now. Villagers had pointed out that Regional Plans 2001 and 2021, had showed, the State Highway 8 passing through Paroda and not Chandor-Cavorim or Guirdolim.
