Digital Goa, July 4 – For promoting Tourism activities during the otherwise slack monsoon season, Goa govt has decided to permit water sports activities in inland waters from June to September 15. The areas identified for water sports activities in the monsoons are River Sal, River Chapora, River Zuari, Dona Paula Bay, River Mandovi (at Diwar Island away from main navigable channel), Nerul River and Sinquerim River. Captain of Ports has sought objections and suggestion from stakeholders within 5 days in this regards. The proposal will be taken into consideration by the Government on the expiry of five days from the date of publication of this Notification in the Official Gazette, states a notification issues in this regards on June 28. The Water Sports activities are to be permitted only between 9 am to 6 pm, and only in fair weather. Regular water sports activities on the beaches, for which Goa is famous, are stopped during monsoon season due to rough weather conditions.
