The Goa government has removed 2,03,300 sq m of land at Sancoale allotted to Goa Shipyard Limited from the non-developable area category, according to a Town and Country Planning Department notification. The land has been allotted to the Goa Shipyard Limited Government of India undertaking under Ministry of Defense by the Goa Industrial Development Corporation for setting up of critical infrastructure and facilities in support of its ship building and ship repair activities including its skill development centre, stated the notification. It had been notified as non-developable in August 2026. The TCP Board considered the matter at its October 14 meeting, following which the government directed the exclusion on October 29. The notification removes the area under Survey No. 97/1-A from the non-developable category.
