Govt says separate taxi stand will be allotted to taxi operators from Pernem at Mopa Airport

    Digital Goa, Jan 2 – Goa govt finally gave in to the demands of Pernem Taxi operators and agreed to allot a separate stand for taxis from Pernem at the Mopa International Airport. The operators have been given time till tomorrow to finalise the total number of taxis that would operate under this stand. CM Sawant announced this after having two elaborate meetings with Taxi Operators and elected representatives from Pernem. Sawant said that the number specified by the taxi operators will be ‘freezed’.  Goa governments Goa App and Goa Miles App will also have separate stands at Mopa Airport. Goa Miles will operate 500 taxis, informed CM. Sawant claimed that the problem has been resolved. He further exuded confidence that the transport arrangements will operate smoothly by taking everyone into confidence from Jan 5 when flight operations will commence at Mopa Airport. However taxi operators have not given any commitment about calling off the strike. The sit-in-protest at Nagzar, Pernem in still on.
