Govt to engage Goan social media influencers to popularise govt schemes and Goa

Digital Goa, Jan 24 – Goa govt today announced a scheme to engage Goan social media influencers to create content related to awareness about govt schemes and various other facets of the touristic state. Rs 2 crore will be earmarked for the scheme in the coming budget, informed CM Pramod Sawant. Rajasthan is the only other state in the country to have a similar scheme. Social Media influencers on Facebook, tweeter, Instagram, Youtube etc can register on the ESG portal from 5 pm today upto Jan 14. Based on the popularity of the influencers such as number of subscribers and likes received, the influencers to be empanelled will be selected after that. Govt will categorise the influencers based on their subscribers, reach, followers etc and decide on the rates for payment. The empanelment will be valid for a year. 15-year residence is compulsory criteria to apply under the scheme.
