Govt to soon initiate steps to take back grabbed govt and ‘no man’ land; cabinet accepts Jadhav commission report

Digital Goa, Jan 10 – State Cabinet today approved the report submitted by one-man commission headed by retired Justice of the Bombay High Court V K Jadhav on land grabbing scam in Goa. The commission had submitted its report in the first week of November 2022. CM Pramod Sawant said that govt will implement the suggestions given in the report in due course of time. Sawant said that the govt will first work towards taking back the government land and ‘no man land’ which has been grabbed and sold by using forged documents. The commission report has suggestions for claiming back the land, he added. The report also has suggestions for custody of archival documents and their digitisation. 9 persons including 3 govt servants have been arrested in the matter. All cases will be chargesheeted, Sawant asserted. He also informed that the grabbed land can be claimed by owners after it is freed from SIT cases.
