Digital Goa, Nov 12 – Activist group Goyant Kolso Naka (GKN) has refuted CM Pramod Sawant’s claim that coal handling in Goa will not increase “even by a single ton.” The group alleged that several projects — including the Union government’s 2023 approval to expand a Mormugao Port jetty from 7 million to 14 million tonnes, the proposed jetty at Xelvona, permission for capital dredging of Vasco Bay from 14 to 19 meters, expansion of Loutolim highway, construction of Borim Bridge, and the Sagarmala project — are all linked to the expansion of coal handling in the state.
