Digital Goa, Jan 11 – The Goa Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) on Sunday staged a protest at Old Goa against the BJP-led Centre, over move to dismantle the MGNREGA scheme. The protest was led by AICC Goa in-charge Manikrao Thakare and AICC Secretary Dr Anjali Nimbalkar. Several local Congress leaders and workers participated in the protest. Claiming that MGNREGA is a crucial lifeline for the poor, the party asserted that it would intensify its agitation and take the issue to every village and district across the country to safeguard people’s right to guaranteed employment.
