Oct 5 – The Goa Union of Journalists has condemned the assault and manhandling of photojournalist Santosh Mirajkar of The Goan Everyday by on-duty police personnel during the protests at Margao on Saturday. GUJ alleged that the photojournalist was hit by lathis by the policemen for intervening when a fellow journalist was allegedly asked by police to delete the footage of lathicharge. GUJ has demanded immediate suspension of the concerned policemen and a thorough investigation in the matter.
