Digital Goa, Jan 1 – Goa has managed to complete hardly 47% of the target set for the construction of Individual Household Toilets(IHHL) under Center’s Swachh Bharat Mission-Urban. The Individual Household Toilets building target set for Goa was 8,020, while the state managed to construct around 3,800 toilets under the initiative. However, the state managed to build double the number of Community/Public Toilet seats as compared to the target. The target set for Goa was 507 community or public toilet seats while the state managed to construct toilets offering 1,270 seats. The information was tabled before the Lok Sabha by Union Minister of State in Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, Kaushal Kishore. He also informed that door to door garbage collection takes place in all 225 wards in urban areas of the state and 98% of this waste is successfully processed.
