Digital Goa, June 16 – High Court has asked Goa govt to expeditiously decide on the appeals filed by casinos against Corporation of City of Panaji(CCP)’s order of removing their hoardings in CCP jurisdiction, informed AG Devidas Pangam. Hearing a suo motu writ petition that was initiated way back in 2007 against illegal hoarding on Goan roads, HC had directed the State government, municipal corporation, municipalities, panchayats, local authorities and the National Highway Authority to place on record the current status of all the existing hoardings. CCP had issued notices to 61 hoarding including those belonging to casinos. AG informed that all municipalities have been asked to file their reports at the earliest. HC has also made Goa Coastal Zone Management Authority(GCZMA) party in the PIL related to status of hoardings put up on the bank of Mandovi river at Betim.
