Digital Goa, Dec 13 – High Court today asked Panchayat Director and the Goa State Pollution Control Board to take action against 13 allegedly illegal structures within the jurisdiction of the Calangute Panchayat which are allegedly operating dance bars and pubs. Panchayat informed the court that there are 13 illegal structures which do not have necessary permissions including occupancy certificate and are operating dance bars and pubs within their premises. Panchayat also told the Court that it has already issued demolition notice to 7 of these structures and that they have appealed before the Panchayat Director against the demolition. Court asked the Panchayat director to speedily dispose off the appeals. Court also asked Pollution Control Board to check if any of these 13 structures are operating without consent to operate, and if so and start the closure process. The Court order came in the PIL Writ Petition filed against dance bars and pubs operating from allegedly illegal structures within the jurisdiction of Calangute Panchayat.
