Digital Goa, Feb 25- High Court today granted permission for the translocation of an age-old banyan tree in Porvorim, which falls in the alignment of the Porvorim elevated road project. A Miscellaneous Civil Application(MCA) in this regards was disposed of by the court. Government authorities assured the court that all expert-recommended precautions would be followed during the translocation process. Locals were up in arms against the cutting of the huge tree which housed a temple at its base.
