Digital Goa, Sept 7 –High Court has issued notices to the State government, Goa Coastal Zone Management Authority (GCZMA), TCP Department, BDO, Collector, Candolim panchayat and other respondents in a PIL filed by the Calangute Constituency Forum. According to petitioners’ counsel Adv Rohit Bras De Sa, the petition alleges that illegal structures to an extent of 7,000 sq m have been constructed at Candolim, including within the No Development Zone and the area between 200 and 500 metres from the High Tide Line. The petitioners have also alleged that commercial activities continue at the premises despite an earlier court order prohibiting them. The counsel also pointed out that Candolim panchayat has issued trade and establishment licences to the structures. The petition seeks action against the allegedly illegal structures and also sealing of the premises. The High Court has sought responses from the authorities and other respondents, and posted the matter for hearing on October 12.
