Health authorities warn MMC of Mapusa fish market power and water connection disconnection over health violations

Digital Goa, Dec16 – The Urban Health Centre (UHC), Mapusa, has warned the Mapusa Municipal Council that water and electricity supply to the Mapusa Fish Market Complex will be disconnected within seven days if ongoing public health violations are not addressed. The UHC notice stated that repeated warnings issued on November 15 had gone unheeded, with garbage accumulation and unhygienic conditions persisting at the fish market. The Health Officer added that the Water Supply and Electricity Departments would be instructed to disconnect services until the nuisance is fully removed to the satisfaction of health authorities. The notice has been sent to the Chief Officer of the Mapusa Municipal Council for immediate action.
