Digital Goa, Nov 1- Health Dept has invited bids from eligible service providers for performing new born screening tests to detect inborn errors of metabolism and other inherited disorders for live births in public Health facilities. The newborns are to be screened for 51 different types of disorders through Biochemical tests and Tandem Mass Spectrometry. The tender is valued at Rs one crore. The project will be awarded for a period of 3 years extendable by 2 years. Goa was the first state to start newborn screening in 2008.
