Height of 17 flyover pillars near Dabolim Airport to be reduced after Navy flags safety risk

Digital Goa, May 13- NHAI has agreed to reduce the height of 17 flyover pillars near the Dabolim airport after the Indian Navy raised safety concerns over violations of international aviation norms. The pillars were found to exceed limits within the Obstacle Limitation Surface (OLS), allegedly posing a risk to flight operations. Following a high-level meeting, the Navy issued a No Objection Certificate (NOC) on April 16 after NHAI submitted revised proposals, informed Dabolim MLA and Minister Mauvin Godinho. High Court was also moved over the OLS matter earlier. Work of the flyover has started in full swing now, he added.
