Digital Goa, Mar 12 – High Court today disposed of the petition regarding Sonsodo garbage treatment site by accepting reports from the Goa Waste Management Corporation that the area is cleared of garbage. Sonsodo issue as regards pollution, health hazard and garbage is over for now, asserted AG Devidas Pangam. He went on to add that there is very little unprocessed garbage at the site which will be cleared soon. RDF generated through the processing of garbage will remain at the site till its transportation to cement factory, he said. Pangam also informed that a retaining wall will be built at the site by June 30. High Powered Committee(HPC) under CM Pramod Sawant will decide as to how the shade and other cleared areas would be put to use, he added further.
