Digital Goa, Sept 9, – High Court has acquitted Ignasius @ Ignatius Minj, a Jharkhand native labourer, in a 2018 murder case, quashing a lower court’s judgment that had sentenced him to 10 years in prison. The verdict, pronounced today, September 9, 2025, sets aside the conviction handed down by the Sessions Court, Margao, and orders Minj’s immediate release from Colvale jail. Minj was convicted for murder of Thadeus Bara, a fellow laborer, on July 9, 2018 at a construction site in Colva. The Sessions Court had found Minj guilty of an offence under Section 304 of the Indian Penal Code and sentenced him on November 28, 2018.
