Digital Goa, June 13 – High Court has ordered that a compensation of Rs 28.58 lakhs be paid to the mother of a person who had died in accident between tipper truck and two-wheeler at Ponda in 2016. Insurance company and other respondents have been asked to jointly and severally pay the appellant compensation of Rs 28,58,262.60 with interest at the rate of 6% per annum from the date of the Claim Petition till the date of actual payment within 8 weeks time. Newly married John Jacob had died in a collision between his motorcycle and the tipper truck at Ponda in August 2016.
