Digital Goa, October 6, 2025 – The High Court has set aside the FIR lodged by the Crime Branch against social activist Gaurav Bakshi on July 2, 2025. The case stemmed from a complaint filed by the Deputy Conservator of Forest after Bakshi, in a viral video, alleged that CM Pramod Sawant was responsible for a reduction in Goa’s forest cover. During the proceedings, Bakshi issued an unconditional apology and informed the Court that he had already withdrawn the video. Taking note of his apology, the Court quashed the FIR but ordered him to pay ₹50,000 as costs, to be deposited as directed.
