Digital Goa, Feb 3 – High Court has sought the assistance of the Advocate General in a public interest litigation (PIL) filed seeking urgent measures to stop the practice of children being forced to beg at traffic signals across the state. Petitioner Advocate Moses Pinto informed that the presiding judge of the division bench asked the Advocate General to examine the petition, consider the reliefs sought, and suggest practical, real-world solutions to prevent the continued exploitation of children at traffic junctions.The PIL seeks directions to the government to identify, rescue and provide shelter to children forced into begging, implement child protection mechanisms, ensure temporary housing and access to education, and set up a dedicated task force to prevent further exploitation of children in public spaces.
