Digital Goa, Oct 10 – High Court has dismissed the appeal filed by Zenito Cardozo against his three-year rigorous imprisonment(RI) sentence in the 2009 Siridao beach case. The case involved the deaths of Santosh Kalel of Zuari Nagar and Johnny Fernandes of St Cruz during a fight between two gangs. Mapusa Court had sentenced Zenito to 3 years RI in 2016. Zenito has been directed to surrender before the Sessions Court by November 10 to serve his sentence. He is presently under judicial custody in Rama Kankonkar brutal assault case. In addition, HC dismissed the appeal filed by two members of the rival gang, Prasad Kubal of Headland Sada and Sachin Padgaonkar of St Cruz, against their four-year RI sentence for seriously assaulting Zenito, during the same fight.
