Digital Goa, Jan 22- Powerful blast was reported near Hill Top Bar & restaurant at Dangui Colony, Mapusa in the wee hours today morning. Cause of the blast is not yet known. Owner of Hill Top Bar & restaurant has alleged foul play. No one has been injured in the incident. Loss is estimated to be to the tune of over Rs 40 lakh. Gripped with fear, locals are demanding investigation of the blast through special forensic team.
▪️ Bar & Restaurant, 7 flats, one bungalow, 3 cars and 3 two-wheelers impacted with the blast
Impact of the blast was so huge that along with the Bar & Restaurant nearly 7 apartments and a bunglow in the vicinity were impacted along with 3 parked cars and 3 two-wheelers. Walls of the apartments have developed cracks while window glasses of the bunglow and nearby apartments have been broken. The impact of the blast was felt in nearly 50 meters vicinity. Shutter of the bar & restaurant itself flew a few meters away informed locals.
▪️ Cylinder blast ruled out
The incident occurred at around 6.30 am today morning. Fire fighters who reached the spot at around 7 am found a small portion of the Bar & Restaurant on fire. Cylinder blast was suspected to be the reason initially, but Fire Force officials said that though there was some leakage to the cylinders, both the cylinders inside the bar & restaurant were intact. The fridge and 2 cold storages inside were also intact, they further informed.
▪️ Owner alleges foul play
Owner of Hill Top Bar & restaurant has alleged foul play in the incident and have demanded thorough inquiry in the process. She alleged that the residents were against them for running the Bar & Restaurant in the locality. She said that there was no much damage inside the the restaurant but blast occurred near the shutter and impacted the nearby area.
