Digital Goa, November 21 – Panaji Police have registered a case against an assistant HR manager for allegedly diverting company funds to the tune of Rs 25 lakh by manipulating employee salaries over a two-year period. The complaint was filed by Head of Security at Worldwide Resorts and Entertainment Pvt Ltd. According to police, between 2023 and 2025, the accused Viraj Govekar was entrusted with payroll processing at the company’s Big Daddy vessel operations in Bambolim. He allegedly credited excess salary amounts totalling ₹25,33,270 into the bank accounts of six employees and then instructed them to transfer the extra money to him via Google Pay for personal use.
