Nov 20 – A 23-year-old man from Hyderabad has been arrested by Goa police for allegedly sexually harassing a woman on board Delhi-Goa flight yesterday. The 28-year-old woman who hails from Delhi has filed a complaint to this effect. The accused identified as Jitender Jangian from Panipat, Haryana who was sitting next to the woman indulged in inappropriate behaviour by pulling over a blanket, states the complaint filed by her after landing at the Dabolim International Airport. Police have registered a case against him under sections 75 (sexual harassment) and 79 (actions intended to insult a woman’s modesty, including verbal insults, inappropriate gestures, or invasion of privacy) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
