Digital Goa, Dec 20 – Indian Institute of Technology(IIT) Site Selection Committee visited Rivona in Sanguem for the selection of a land parcel for permanent IIT Goa campus. The committee, in principle, agreed on the suitability of the Rivona site. The committee comprised of KN Satyanarayana, Director IIT Tirupati, BK Mishra, Director IIT Goa, S Sudarshan, DD IIT Bombay, Prasad Lolayekar, Secretary of Education, Govt of Goa, A K Agarwal, CPWD and DK Sharma, MoE, Govt of India. Minister and local MLA Subhash Phal Dessai who has been promoting Sanguem Taluka as suitable site for setting up the premier educational institute confirmed that the committee visited the proposed site for permanent campus for IIT, and that the 10 lakhs sq m of land at Rivona has been approved by the committee.
