Digital Goa, July 29 – The issue of illegal liquor transportation in Goa came under sharp focus in the Assembly on Tuesday, exposing several malpractices in the liquor trade and its movement across the state.Raising the matter, MLA Venzy Viegas referred to the recent incident involving an abandoned Nagaland-registered truck loaded with liquor worth lakhs, which caught fire on the highway. CM Sawant admitted that the entry records of the truck in question have not yet been received. Assuring firm action, the CM said the government will crack down on illegal trade by implementing measures such as holograms on liquor bottles and stricter vigilance at border checkpoints.
