IMD forecasts heavy rainfall at isolated places in Goa from Sept 15 to 18 due to law pressure belt

    Digital Goa, Sept 14- IMD has issued a yellow alert in Goa from Sept 15 to 18 due to well marked low pressure area and monsoon trough over Bay of Bengal. “Heavy rainfall very likely at isolated places on 15th, 16th, 17th & 18th September 2023.” While light to moderate rainfall very likely at most places over Goa on 14th, 19th & 20th Sept. 2023. Well Marked Low Pressure Area lies over Northwest Bay of Bengal & adjoining North Odisha-West Bengal coasts with associated Cyclonic circulation extending up to 7.6 km above mean sea level tilting southwestwards with height. It is likely to move across Odisha and Chhattisgarh during next 2 days. While, Monsoon Trough at mean sea level now passes through Bikaner, Shivpuri, Sidhi, Jamshedpur and thence South-eastwards to the centre of Well Marked Low Pressure Area over Northwest Bay of Bengal.
