Digital Goa, May 21- IMD has upgraded rain warning for Goa from orange to red for next 24 hours. According to IMD, “heavy to very heavy Rain at a few places with extremely heavy rainfall at isolated places likely to occur & thunderstorm with winds speed 50-60 km gusting to 70 kmph very likely at a few places over North & South Goa in next 24 hours”. The normal life went out of gear for second consecutive day in Goa due to heavy rain. According to IMD, there will be some respite from rain after few days. Orange alert is issued for next two days while yellow alert was issue for next four days.

A large mango tree came crashing down in front of the Collector’s office in Panjim earlier today, causing damage to more than 10 two-wheeler vehicles parked in the vicinity.

A landslide occurred at the Sada flyover in Vasco this morning following incessant rainfall in the region. The incident disrupted traffic in the area.
▪️ Massive banyan tree falls at Kasarvarne, Pernem
In the early hours today, a massive banyan tree collapsed near Kasarvarne in Pernem around 4 am, blocking access to a stretch of road close to the National Highway. A four wheeler was damaged in the incident.
