37th National Games inaugurated with glittering event at PNJ stadium, Fatorda
Digital Goa, Oct 26- International Olympic Committee (IOC) has been assured that India is ready for hosting Youth Olympics in 2030 and Olympics in 2036, informed PM Narendra Modi today. PM Modi inaugurated the 37th National Games at the Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium at Fatorda today. “National Games are Launchpad for young players,” said Modi asserting that there is no shortage of talents in India. The state-of-the-art infrastructure developed in Goa in view of National Games will be useful for sportspersons in the state and also to host national and international events, he added. This he said will help boost tourism and economy of the state.
With various national and international sporting events Goa has got a new identity as sports destination, asserted CM Pramod Sawant. Union Sports Minister Anurag Thakur, CM Pramod Sawant, Indian Olympic Association(IOA) President P T Usha MoS Shripad Naik, South Goa MP Francis Sardinha, Rajya Sabha MP Sadanand Shet Tanavade, were present at the inaugural event. The National Games will conclude on Nov 7.
