CM Pramod Sawant told the Assembly he has brought illegal Mhadei diversion activities done by Karnataka to the notice of the Center and urged the Union Environment Minister not to grant forest or other clearances to Karnataka for the projects. He admitted Karnataka has been illegally diverting water for years, but said Goa cannot act within their jurisdiction and must seek legal remedies. He assured the House that a contempt petition will be filed soon.
