Digital Goa, Oct 30 – Transport Department has directed that all public service vehicles in Goa must have a functional Vehicle Location Tracking Device (VLTD) and an emergency button installed on or before November 30, 2025. The devices will be verified during renewal of fitness certificates and surprise inspections, the department informed. The directive follows inspections that revealed several public service vehicles either lacked tracking devices and emergency buttons or had non-functional ones, the Dept informed. The Transport Department added in a public notice that the devices must meet AIS-140 standards and can be fitted by the manufacturer, authorised dealer, or vehicle operator, as applicable.
