State Industries Dept has issued a proclamation declaring a 10,000 sq m land parcel at Naquerim village in Quepem as an Investment Promotion Area (IPA) for a dedicated propellant storage facility proposed by Hughes Precision Manufacturing Pvt Ltd. The proposal follows in-principle approval granted by the Goa Investment Promotion and Facilitation Board (IPB). Under the proposal, powers relating to building permissions, taxation and development control within the notified area would be vested with authorities under the Goa Investment Promotion and Facilitation of Single Window Clearance Act, 2021. The government has invited objections and suggestions from the public within one month from the date of publication of the proclamation in the Official Gazette.
