Feb 26 – The issue related to cable cutting has been resolved for now, assured CM Pramod Sawant today. For 6 months at least the ISPs and Cable TV operators will get relief for now, he added. As our future plan, we will put underground ducts and all service providers will be brought on board to take care of the issue of dangling cables, said Sawant. Adding that it was an inter departmental issue, Sawant informed that Chief Secretary took a meeting with the department officials and resolved the matter. “As per the new circular of govt of India, initially they will have to ask for permissions. We will give them permissions,” he added. With electricity department starting an extensive drive to cut internet and cable TV wires on electricity poles, citizens specially businesses had to go through severe hardships due to disruption in connectivity services. ISPs as well as Cable TV operator associations had also moved the courts over the matter.
