Karnataka all-party delegation to urge Center to clear Mhadei diversion project

    Digital Goa, Aug 23- Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah today said that he is considering taking an all-party delegation to Prime minister Narendra modi over the Mahadayi and Cauvery river water utilisation dispute and the row over the commencement of the Mekedatu project. The delegation will urge the Union Govt and PM Modi to clear River Mhadei diversion project which has met with obstacles owing to forest and environment clearance, stated Karnataka CM while speaking to media persons. The decision was taken in the all party meeting held at Bengaluru. The delegation will also explain to the center the prevailing situation in Karnataka owing to deficit rainfall this season, he added. He also said he wanted distress formula ready over River Cauvery water dispute between Karnataka and Tamil Nadu.
