Karnataka Dy CM raises issue of Goa’s objections on Mhadei diversion with Centre

Digital Goa, July 9 – Karnataka Deputy CM D K Shivakumar has stated on X that he raised the issue of Goa government’s objections to the Mahadayi diversion project during the meeting on Wednesday with Union Environment Minister Bhupender Yadav. Shivakumar met Union Environment Minister Bhupender Yadav in Delhi on Wednesday to discuss key irrigation projects in Karnataka. Shivakumar said he also sought early clearance from the Center for several water projects, including the Kalasa-Banduri project. Incidentally, speaking to the media in Karnataka today, he criticised Goa for raising objections over the Mahadayi river diversion projects. He even questioned Goa’s authority to question, stating that only the Centre has the power to seek clarifications on Karnataka’s projects.
