Digital Goa, Jan 19 – Karnataka Excise Department has resorted to monitoring Karwar forest area, bordering Goa, using drones in view of rampant illegal smuggling of liquor through forest routes. Smugglers use small routes inside forest areas to smuggle liquor from Goa to Karnataka. These smuggling activities via forest routes have increased after checking at state border checkposts has been made stricter, informed Karnataka Excise officials.
