Digital Goa, June 20 – The Cybercrime Cell has arrested a 36-year-old man from Kerala, identified as Rijas K, for allegedly cheating a Margao-based woman of Rs 2.60 crore through a ‘digital arrest’ scam. The accused trapped the victim by posing as a law enforcement official and threatening her with arrest, coercing her into transferring large sums of money. Investigators traced Rs 75 lakh of the defrauded amount to the accused’s bank account, leading to his arrest.
