Aug 16- Resident doctors at Goa Medical College and Hospital, Bambolim staged a protest demanding justice in the horrific rape and murder of 31-year-old doctor inside Kolkata Hospital on Aug 9. Indian Medical Association (IMA) has called for a 24 hour strike nationwide from tomorrow, August 17. The strike will start at 6 AM on August 17 and end after 24 hours on morning of August 18. Doctors in Goa will also be participating in the strike. “All essential services will be maintained. Casualties will be manned. Routine OPDs will not function and elective surgeries will not be conducted. The withdrawal is across all the sectors wherever modern medicine doctors are providing service,” the release by IMA HQ had stated yesterday.
