June 11 – Konkan Railways has cancelled the tender floated by it seeking service provider for operating rent-a-bike service at railway stations in Goa due to opposition from stakeholders, informed KRCL Deputy General Manager Baban Ghatge. The decision was taken after Santosh Kumar Jha, Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of KRCL met CM Sawant on Monday. As per the tender floated by KRCL, Rent-a-Bike services were to be operated at 7 Railway stations- 4 in Goa and 3 in Karnataka through a single contract for all seven stations.
