Feb 25- To ensure preference for local youth, the Goa government has made Konkani mandatory for government jobs, CM Pramod Sawant asserted today. He clarified that this move does not sideline Marathi but aims to prevent injustice to Goans amid rising migration. Sawant pointed out that Marathi-speaking candidates from Maharashtra often secure Central government jobs in Goa, leaving local youth at a disadvantage. Making Konkani mandatory is seen as a solution to such issues, he stated.
