Digital Goa, Mar 13- A fleet of 60 buses including big and mini buses including electrical buses, electrical buggies in non-motorized roads etc owned by Kadamba Transport Corporation Ltd (KTCL) are set to replace the private buses plying in and around Panaji under the Smart City project. A notification to this effect has been issued by the state Transport Department today. A draft notification in this regards was thrown open for public suggestions and feedback in the last week of December,2023. Objections and suggestions received from the public on the said Proposal/Scheme have been considered by the Government, states the notification issued today. Routes covered under the scheme include Panaji Bus Stand to Miramar, Dona Paula, Caranzalem, Bambolim, Goa University, Cujira, Taleigao, St. Inez, St. Cruz, and Altinho. The Smart buses introduced by KTCL on these routes will be colour coded as per the route and will offer services such as QR code ticket. Standard fare rates of Rs 10 and Rs 20 is proposed to be charged to the commuters. The KTCL buses will start operation for April 1,2024 states the notification.
