Kudnem woman murder case: rejected marriage proposal suspected motive, accused on the run

    Digital Goa, May 20 – Bicholim Police today conformed that the 58-year-old woman who was found dead at her home at Chikne, Kudnem in was allegedly murdered. Police suspect that the crime was driven by a grudge over a rejected marriage proposal. According to a complaint lodged the son of the deceased, the accused, identified as Sagar Rawool (34), a native of Shirshinge in Sawantwadi, Maharashtra, allegedly trespassed into the family’s house between 11 am and 3 pm on May 19 and killed the lady identified as Shaila Ghadi. Police said the accused allegedly held a grudge against the deceased after she reportedly rejected his marriage proposal concerning her younger daughter. After the alleged murder, the accused is said to have fled with the victim’s gold chain and a Nokia mobile phone.
    In a further disturbing development, police said the accused allegedly called the complainant’s elder sister, admitted to committing the murder, and allegedly threatened to kill her and other family members. The accused is on the run and police are on his lookout.
