Digital Goa, Jan 1 – Goa govt is waiting for approval of the center for the land which is proposed by the for setting up permanent campus of IIT at Rivona. Once the approval comes, govt will hand over the land to them, informed CM Pramod Sawant. “We are waiting for approval from the Center. Once it is approved we will give them land,” he said. IIT Goa Director Professor B K Mishra informed that the proposal is presently placed before the highest Level at the Central Govt Ministry and that it will be approved. Goa govt has identified 10 lakh sq mtr land at Rivona for setting up the premier institute at Rivona in Sanguem Taluka. IIT site selection committee visited the site in December and also approved it. After facing opposition at three places, Goa government had identified the new land in Rivona.
