Laws to be tweaked to save houses & businesses existing in coastal areas prior to 1991 says Sawant

Digital Goa, Mar 19 – Goa govt is contemplating of making amendment to laws related to TCP, Tourism, Panchayat etc and also to CZMP to save the houses and businesses of people in coastal areas specially those existing prior to 1991, informed CM Pramod Sawant. Solution will come, he assured the villagers. He said that he has already met the union environment minister seeking certain relaxation in CZMP for coastal states. He was speaking to residents of the area during the Sankalp Patra Abhiyan meeting at Bandir Waddo, Anjuna today. High Court as well as NGT has cracked down heavily on illegal constructions in coastal belt of North Goa in the recent past and even ordered sealing and demolition of such structures.
