Digital Goa, Mar 18 – Citizens carrying more than Rs 50,000 cash will have to carry proper documents as regards the source of the cash or else the same is liable to be seized, alerted South Goa Collector Asvin Chandru. He was speaking to media persons along with SP South and other officials today. He also informed that banks in South Goa have been asked to submit a daily report as regards suspicious transactions in customer accounts. North Goa Collector Sneha Gitte also held a press briefing along with SP North to brief the media about the Lok Sabha Polls 2024.
Voters can report about malpractices through the helpline numbers 1950 , 0832-2794100(South Goa), 0832-2225383 (North Goa) , Whatsapp number 9699793464 (North Goa) and also through the CVigil App. As per the Election Commission guidelines, the election officials have to respond to the complaint within 20 minutes and resolve the same within 100 minutes.
Media certification teams will be set up to monitor violation of Model Code of Conduct(MCC). The teams will also be responsible for pre-certifying political advertisement on digital media. Parties will have to apply to the teams for certification.
