Long pending plastic waste to fuel plant inaugurated at Pernem

    Digital Goa, Jan 15 – The long pending plastic waste to into fuel or hydrocarbon derivative preparation facility set up by Goa State Urban Development Agency (GSUDA) through M K Aromatics Ltd at Pernem was inaugurated by Minister Vishwajeet Rane today. If the plant operates successfully, similar plants will be set up in other parts of Goa, informed the minister. The 10 TPD facility can process any kind of waste plastics without the need to wash, shred or sort the plastic waste informed company officials. 100 plastic collection centers will be set up across Goa by the company to collect plastic waste. One such center has already been launched at Mapusa, the official added. Incidentally, in November 2014, the GSUDA had inked a contract with the company to set up the plant at Pernem. GSUDA had paid the firm Rs 8.3 crore but the plant was unable to kick start its operations efficiently due to several operational issues.
