Digital Goa, June 1 – The two persons feared drowned at Guleli, Ganjem have been identified as students residing at a Hostel at Curti, Ponda. The missing students are 18-year-old Dhananjay Khairnath from Maharashtra and 24-year-old Lovepreet Singh from Punjab. They had gone for a picnic at the spot along with a group of five friends. According to Ponda Fire Station In-Charge, Sushil Morajkar, the sudden opening of the dam gates led to a rise in water levels, sweeping the two youths away. Two others who were stranded mid-river were rescued by locals and Fire & Emergency personnel.
