    Digital Goa, Jan 26 – Major religious conversions were averted in Goa by Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, Sambhaji Maharaj, Deepaji Rane, Dada Rane etc asserted CM Pramod Sawant today. He was speaking after laying a wreath and paying floral tributes to Chieftain warrior Dipaji Rane at Nanus Fort in Sattari. Although Portuguese reigned rest of Goa for 450 years they could rule the areas of Sattari, Bicholim, Pernem for only 50 to 60 years, he added. Henceforth on every Jan 26, Goa will pay its tribute to Deepaji Rane through a state level function and the same has been notified, he said. He also laid Foundation stone for renovation of the memorial at Nanus Fort.
